COVER & RULES | Next >Welcome to the beginning! Oh Silver, poor Silver, trouble has found you again. While Silver and Toby aren't the main characters in this run, their journey will probably be just as important later in the story. I didn't like the idea of him only appearing to battle in the game, so be sure that you'll see plenty more of this kid :] I kept his age at 10 like the games, lots of shenanigans this kid'll get up to later on!
Worldbuilding Tidbits:
- This kinda replaces the first rival battle since I find tackle spams a bit boring. Plus this is more plot relevant ;3
- Since I'm not gonna be drawing all the trainer encounters, I thought it'd be fun to add them as side characters whenever I can. Joey of notorious repute makes an appearance here, as well as Mikey and bug catcher Don. You can probably guess which town they're in right now
- Joey will probably end up becoming mafia leader and run an underground rats nest full of street kids and shady intel paid with shiny baubles... or maybe not!
- Baby pokemon technically can't battle straight out of the egg but Toby's a battle-grade. We'll explore what that means and why this blue darling is now in Silver's grubby lil arms later on.

Gorgeous artworks, love how you draw the battle scenes so close to what the moves look like in the game! That Leer is haunting.

Honestly kids are the best characters xD I thought it'd be such an interesting dynamic having kid/young adult shenanigans ahah so we'll see how that plays out

I think you're the first person to do that in a Nuzlocke, as far as I know!
And gosh yeah, I remember the Gold and Silver graphics that I loved so much, like the sounds of Hydro Pump and Hyper Beam being all epic. Even Embers sounded super strong back in the days!

probably a full episode (multi page compilation) on dA every 4-6 weeks, but if you want more frequent single page updates I post every 2 weeks on smackjeeves

This is incredible! I love it! god your art is so good and i just love the way it starts off with action and i can tell just from these updates so far that this comic is gonna become awesome both art and storywise. The atmostphere is so aestethic and i'm excited to see more. Good luck!

See, this is why I love drawing Pokemon; They are always fun to draw! I got my start in drawing with Sonic the Hedgehog, but I gotta say, drawing these little creatures will always fill my heart with joy! Even drawing the not-so-friendly Pokemon will be a blast for me. To me, the Pokemon series will never die.

I love the art in all of these panels, they're great! I especially like the actions scenes. Can you tell me how long it took to finish this strip?

aaa thank you!! i'm really happy you like the action scenes, those are the ones i want to get good at eventually!
short answer would be about a 15-20 hrs if you add all the hours up
but long answer is that it was spread between my grad classes & life so i started beginning of dec and finished it right after the new year, it can take a few days to get each stage (thumbs/lines > bgs > characters & text) done depending on how detailed each step is
i tend to stack my process so when i am lining or painting bgs at night, i'm also lining/thumbnailing on my commute during the day
