Description This is just showing more of the progress in Mega Man Eternal II.  This is showing a work-in-progress version (the palettes are not final necessarily, they are subject to change, the point here is you can change them yourself too on the fly or use the dynamic colour palette system).  This shows the first phase of the stage select.  I organized the screens as per how the island rotates and you select.  In the spirit of making a novel stage select, as I have done before with the first game, I tried to take things to the next level.  The stage select works as follows:

-It is a lazy suzy/carousel design, like in Mega Man Eternal and Rockman World 4, but taken to the next level.
-It includes a preview image behind the island, there's a flicker effect and a sprawling Mega Man Eternal II logo that scrolls if you stay put for a long time. The preview item includes both a close-up of the robot master and also a closer look at the stage.
-When robot masters are defeated, their image goes black and the preview image flickers.
-Items hidden in levels will display inside the black silhouette of the defeated robot master.
-There's a location indicator, akin to the stage selects for the early X games.
-You save, access the lab, and the store at the bottom-most option shown.

One challenge I had a lot of fun with was developing all these aspects where there is very little overlap, and the entire main backdrop only consists of two colours to help the foreground pop.

I will not spoil much more in this post, but it must be stressed, the island does change form in future parts and actually consists of not just one lazy suzy but two or three (depending on your definition).  Those changes occur as the game progresses.  The first part of the game after you beat the intro stage consists of the options in the image (defeat the 6 robot masters shown).  Note that Holiday Park is both the intro stage you began the game at and also where you can play amusement games, such as Poultry Catcher.

Robot masters were designed in collaboration between various other spriters and primarily myself, Turbine Man was designed by DuoDynamo
