Description
This started as a commission from my cousin, who happens to play the violin. He had the idea of a violin with a heart and wanted me to make an illustration of it so he could put it on a shirt for personal use. The problem was that I couldn't draw a stick figure even if my life depended on it. I suggested a photo-manipulation instead. He agreed, and there never was a shirt.At the time of making this I had bought and was listening to King Diamond's The Puppet Master, which tells the story of a puppeteer who makes his puppets out of real people, the process being a rather brutal and gory one. I believe that, in a way, that influenced this image a lot.
My cousin provided a lot of violin pictures and I selected this one. The heart was from a public domain medical archive that I'm afraid is no longer online. Textures may be from here, devart, so if you see anything that looks familiar, let me know so I can give proper credit to its stock-makers.

Really, a stunning manip, but I have to ask, what are the things that are holding the heart on? I've looked at this pic a gazillion times or so, but I still can't seem to figure it out, and the worst part is that they're so familiar looking...

I'm not sure what they're called. It's something I found on my uncle's workshop (he is a luthier). He told me he uses them to stick things together. For example, when he applies glue to two pieces of wood he uses those thingies to keep them together, through pression, until the glue dries.
Obviously I'm not using them appropiately in this picture. But I needed something to hold the heart onto the violin and I thought they would do the trick

Not intentional at all. The holes are the places where the arteries go so blood can be pumped to your body. All hearts have them. In hindsight, I should have used them somehow in this manip

hi i rly like this picture and i wanted to know if my schools orchestra could use it as a t-shirt design and on the back of it we'll put credit for you, but i need ur permission first since it would b like stealing lolz so could i please use it?

In the meantime we could discuss things like, how many shirts will it be on, if it'll be just for the orchestra or it'll be sold for audience as well, how big the image should be, etc...

alright and yes the shirts are for orchestra only, and i'm not rly sure how many shirts will be sold depends on how many ppl want it, i would guess mayb like 20ish. i'll have to talk to my teacher about how big she wants the image.
