Big congrats to you. You have a bright future ahead of you.

Would you say it's the sometimes unrealistic deadlines or the corrections that make it so difficult?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dismang In reply to JonathanGlapion [2008-10-31 01:27:14 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much for that! Deadlines are definitely stressful- haven't had much trouble with corrections- so I'd say it is just building confidence in what I'm doing wether it is with rendering, story telling, and/or color theory. There is so much more behind successful use of color than what most folks realize. Anyone can fill the lines with local colors, but pulling it all together to convey mood & atmosphere with out overwhelming the artwork it is the tricky part.

Use of colour can be so powerful. Mood, legibility, focusing attention, etc. You clearly understand all of that - Is your background in graphic design?

nope, just a fine arts degree.

I really liked this one! (I went to see this pic for coloring captains EYES for Mitch's contest.. but failed for obvious reasons lol)
I really liked how the shadows go on this one! Good work! They will surely hire you to color more stuff! Youre a great colorist

I absolutely love this picture. The colors you put to the lines just scream Cap. It' has such a great nostalgic 1940's look to it. I agree with Dan-Van-Cool you could take this book straight to a movie.
