Description My first tutorial ever! Thought I'd explain how I did my color changes for my Mimic piece here -> [link]

If people find this useful than I'll make more. Maybe a pen cutting tutorial cause I find a lot of people that don't quite understand it properly.

What version of Photoshop do you have? I've tried everything and yet whenever I set the brush on color it basically just de-saturates the horse. Any clues?

Love the tutorial, it'll be very helpful

Random question, I know the ctrl+a to select the whole image, but I thought there was a way to switch it to just around the cut-out object of that layer? Do you know what combination is used to do that?

On photoshop you can inverse the selection. I believe its shift+ctrl+i

what kind of photoshop is it? i use elements 7, not the very best for photo-editing but it gives good results.

I did this in adobe photoshop CS2 so I'm not sure how compatible it is without types or versions. Some earlier versions might not have "color mode".

You want to make sure your subject is selected so that the coloring will only be in the lines. A quick selection tool like the magic wand or magnetic lasso should suffice well enough.
