Description This was my final in 2D studies, the project was to create money (bills specificly) The front and backs are layed next to each other in each file, the money can be layed on top of each other with staircase edges so that you can see larger bills behind smaller bills as a continuation of the image.

Concept.
TRON. The movie tron focuses on interactions between a "User" a perosn who was digitized into the world, and the programs of the world. All aspects of the movie represent some componute of a computer system. The digital world is very stylized by clean neon lines and a near minimalistic style. The world is divided between the belief of "Users" which fill a god-like roll. Since a computer system is only given input, it has no way to know what that information is coming from. The Master Control Program, which is functionaly a security system, has been systematicly taking control over everything. Pitting Programs that believe in the Users in gladitorial arcade games, where the loser is "derezzed".

My concept work with the move TRON is in line more with the resistance element of the movie then its aftermath. Everything a Program does or learns is stored in an Idenity Disk. The Money I designed, which is in Gigabytes, is a resistance to control, the currency is not just symbolic of money itself, but also a means to convey data and information. With it's seperation from the Idenity Disk it makes it a valueable and hard to trace way of communication as well. Thus illegalized by the Master Control Program the use of currency is actualy criminal.

The Lagnuage. > Bitronic <

While there is a style of writing with TRON, it is simply a stylisezed english, the movies make no effort to reveal any language. Thus I decided to create one for it which i call Bitronic, combination of binary and tron. Bitronic is writen majorily in straight lines, perpendicular to each other, in roughly square shape, many characters have arced tails which lead in some direction, this was done to show the diconomy between the very controlled envirement, and individualness of the programs. Bitronic is styled to be a muddle, the characters look like a mix between english and arabic, but is writen with a japanese influence. Many consinant characters change sounds by a dot marked above them for example the T character becoems D, and H transforms to B. This parallels japanese. Bitronic like japanese does not space between words. Bitronic has no punctuation

Detail.

Frontside.
The frontside of each bill is done as simply as possable in reflection of computer efficency. The front side center of each bill reads Gigabyte, with an amount listed prior to gigabyte in slightly larger text. Across the top and bottem is binary for the word "USER" Binary 1 and 0 have special characters then regular counting system numbers, and are refered to as Holy 1 and Holy 0.

Backside.
Central to each bill is an iconic image, due to the array of views these images vary immensly, from notable figures (Dulmont, on the cyan bill) to everyday conviencies (the Light Cycle on the yellow) , to symbols of oppresion themselves (Recognizer on the Red bill). Above the image the translation reads "End user license" the common term we encounter which means the company is not responsable for it's product, in the TRON world symbolizes a warning of the risk of having the money, it reads more as a statement of the erasing of gods in our terms, an objective of the MCP (Master Control Program). Below the image is the translation, In User we Trust. A reflection on our modern money. It is placed on the bottem, as a compairision to the End User License, which is open policy verse In User we Trust, a view that must be hidden. Across the middle of the backside is the Holy Binary for USER again, this time faded into the distance. In the top right and bottem left corners of the bill are identification numbers to distinguish bills apart.

Edges: The edges of bills are staircased, with larger currency bills being larger. When stacked the different bills become visable as a whole with color changes. This overlay works in sets of 3, where each higher set of bills will have a different style of edge, becoming more elaborate as bills increase in value.

Amounts.
Bills increase in amounts of odd prime numbers (there is no 2 dollar bill) 1,3,5,7,11,13,17,23 etc....

Gigabyte Bills in the Tron Universe.
One thing of note, is much of the characters on the bill, would actualy be floating slightly off the surface fo the bill, i have tryed to stylize this in the bill itslef, so it would have dimention when pulled out. The odd amount of the currency is representative of how much data could be stored within the bill, as bills rise in price there edge design becomes more and more elaborate, the bill uses its own memory to achieve it's apperence, the amount of total data on a card is scaled. 2, 4, 8 for the first set, 16 for the second set, 32 for the third set. Thus each bill has a secret amount of data it can hold that is not revealed, which makes the bills valuable as this hidden left over memory is encripted, so only knowing how to buypass it can you get to it, the bills print number is related to the encoding, but does not give an answer for uncoding this hidden data.
