So a while ago, me and my friend Amy were talking about Pokemon, when I asked what her first shiny was, This happened.I just noticed despite checking, I still managed to incorrectly spell Gyarados. I may have to correct it at some point.

My first shiny was a Carvahna way back in Emerald- I was hunting for Feebas at the time.
The funny thing is, I didn't believe in Shinies before that moment!

Not in itself, no. A shiny Magikarp still has the value of any other shiny.
Except when it evolves. Shiny Gyarados is the shiny that literally everyone has. I even went as far to say "that gyarados in the lake doesnt count"
and yet, she ended up with a shiny gyarados as her first shiny either way.
I laughed.

Nah, you actually get one as part of the story in gold and silver, so having a shiny Gyarados is nothing to brag about. xD

Depends on what level do you catch it people will know if you actually encounter a wild shiny Magikarp
Actually i captured a shiny Magikarp in Pokemon X and people will think that i transer it from HG/SS
But the red Gyarados from HG/SS is level 20! But in the description of my Magikarp it will show " Encountered at level 15" Even if it is
a Gyarados

I didn't say her Magikarp was caught in hg/ss. For all we know, it was caught in black and white, since that was the latest game out when the conversation took place. Which the Gyarados doesn't even appear in.
Plus, I suppose a shiny Magikarp does hold the same value as any other shiny, since a shiny Magikarp couldn't possibly be even mistaken for that Gyarados until you evolve it. And yes, if caught at under level 20, even if evolved you have proof that they are not one in the same, though unless they had possession of your Gyarados they wouldn't necessarily know that.
Though it would also work if her game really was hg/ss and she had both the Gyarados, since it means she must have actually caught one legit.
Also, unless you were one of the lucky ones that got to transfer pokemon to x and y, a shiny Gyarados is as impressive as any other shiny. ...Well, a water shiny at least.

Other than the Magikarp salesman in Black and White, there are no Magikarp to be found in the game.

Oh snap, you're right. Although it doesn't change much about the condition, other than the fact a black/white magikarp would be that one instead of a wild one.

Yeah, but I'm not positive on that. My first might have been a Floatzel I found on my friends game while I was helping her look for a Glameow. Both were pretty random.
Have you found any shinies since that Magikarp?

Actually, mine was the Ratatta, and unfortunately not, I'm incredibly unlucky with things like that. I like to think my sister took all my luck in the womb, she has the luck of a freaking saint when it comes to shinies, even to the extent of finding a shiny Patrat in pokemon black and white the moment she stepped out of the hometown. Has quite a number of shinies on X and Y, and even catching a shiny Growlithe with POKERUS.
Fyi, thats a one in 178,956,971 chance. And remember, I said I had none since Ratatta. Yup.
