My character, Vie , is an orphan.. but I decided to draw a picture of him with his mother before she died. I'm not sure if I'm actually going to have had her be pregnant.. but it doesn't really matter right now. It's not the final design yet XDRelated content

What's Vie's story anyway? Wht happened to him to orphan him? You have lots of pretty pictures, but no backstory....tis making me mad.

Sorry for the extremely late reply. But anyways, the story is nobody really knows what happened to his parents. Some say they just left, others say they were murdered. What really happened is that Vie was kidnapped and was on his way to the island he lives on now. But they were shipwrecked and Vie was the only passenger that made it to land. So he was pretty much free. He was found by this old hermit guy and lived with him for a few years (until he was almost 4). Then the old guy died and Vie travelled to the nearby town. When he showed up there he was taken in by a few families. Over time, people just began to assume he was the orphan child of some local couple who resembled Vie that had disappeared some time ago, 'cause they remember the couple having a kid. So one time this kid shows up who also resembles the couple and he's around a year older than Vie. This kid actually remembers his parents, so people figure he must be Vie's brother. So they become close and everything. But sometime throughout the story, Vie discovers that he's not from that island at all and he learns about his past, etc.

I love your style these days; soft line curves, gentle and round eyes, inconspicuous spots of detail. I've always loved your style and I especially love that you continue to tweak and change it as time goes on and your skills progress. It's really intriguing to watch your character designs; how in-depth the character backgrounds are sometimes, how other characters relate to your main one, and so on. Are you planning on making a comic strip or a 2D-animation of these characters? I hope you do something with them, they're so lovely! ^-^
