Description Well,

One for a contest this time. In a burst of inspiration on sunday i spent about 10 hours or so working on this. I don't know how many layers i used but i know i have to start naming them couse i couldn't find a thing in the end

I want to thank =Burning-Liquid for his help, advice and the main flare wich he did for me. Tnx man couldn't have done it without you

In this piece you see almost everything i got to offer and so i consider this one of my best pieces so far. Well that's all for me for now.

With "simple" brushing. Using a round brush and then fooling around with the opacity. Good luck with it

WOW. That is amazing.
And you have only worked on it for 10 hours....VERY impressive.

I am currently working on a space drawing too, but I canΒ΄t paint it in less than 50-60 effecient hours or so and then it will never be as detailed as your paint.
Jealous in your skills (",)

Are you using Photoshop and no other programz?

instant favorite, keep up the good work. personally a little brighter would help in daylight situations but i understand it works better dark with the main light and shadows.

besides the flare beeing exagerated this is indeed one of the best and most detailed space scenes i seen in a ooooooong time.. if not the best.. but the flare ruins it completelly.. should have been more constricted to the scene itself and not look exagerated as it does.

DKF In reply to portwolf [2006-12-09 12:54:15 +0000 UTC]

i appreciate your honesty. At first i wasn't to sure about it myself, but it gave the piece a boost. Without it it seemed almost boring so i decided to keep it in and i do like the piece more with it then without it. Maybe i could have done it otherwise but i was and still am happy with the result. Tnx for the comment

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

portwolf In reply to DKF [2006-12-09 16:08:57 +0000 UTC]

it whould give the piece a boost if you had used a solar flare-like effect, like the one we see in movie footage when a ship cruises by a galaxy.. i may provide an example if you whould like.. but the flare in there going from top to bottom and in bright white just kills it cuz it ruins perspective and colourscheme, again im not beeing rude, im just finishing off the coment i posted earlier
i think that if that flare was removed and some minor lighting was added it whould bring the piece to a completelly new level.. mind if i mark some spots in the pic and show you what i mean?

DKF In reply to portwolf [2006-12-10 14:48:34 +0000 UTC]

portwolf In reply to DKF [2006-12-14 12:55:38 +0000 UTC]

ok, im noting you with a marked "exotica" showing the perfect light spot's you have there and i believe that if you re-worked it and built more of those it whould look killer!

no, no layer effects like that Just brushing, some colordodge layers and fooling around with levels and contrast/brightness.
