Description
Sometimes, the most meaningful and emotional travel experiences are the result of a chance meeting. To make a long story short...while waiting for a bus in Blantyre, Malawi I met a local Pastor who was headed in the same direction as I. The bus never showed up and we spent a few hours waiting and talking before finding another means of transport.
The next day, Pastor Eric took me with him to an orphanage in a small village across the border in Mozambique. Eric is afilliated with this orphanage and visists a few times a year. To get there we had to ride bicycles to the river crossing and then load everything onto a dugout canoe. The Chief was so happy to have a visitor, he insisted that I return the following day. I will be sending a stack of photos to Eric and he will bring them back to the village.
The 2 days I spent there were incredibly emotional. I'll post more pictures from there in the future.

The need is there...that is so true. Seeing if first hand is the only way to truly grasp that. You just have to be there.
This child has such deep eyes...

What attracted me to this picture was the colors in the background. The DOF is great.
Again...The use of color is AMAZING!

i like how the background is blurred, as if conveying that the thing that is here and now is what matters. Nothing else that is going on matters. only the child in the photo.
