Description
March 2002 - Acco, Israel. This is one of my favorite shots from a day of wandering around the old city of Acco last year. I was actaully in the middle of composing a shot of one of these kids walking down the alley and before I knew it, this whole group was in front of me. The picture really created itself. Luckily, I had the right lens mounted. After one single shot, all of the kids ran off. Canon T90, Canon FD 24mm. lens., Fuji Neopan 100 Black and White filmRelated content

I had no intention of looking at this picture.
I clicked on it by accident.
I couldn't help but wonder if the picture sought me out.
This shot is amazing.
A perfect moment captured.

This is the type of journalistic photography that I love to see... great job really captured the emotion and joy of the children. Absolutely beautiful children... they look too happy regardless of the issues facing them in the future... This is a beautiful shot and it has made me want to go to your gallery oh and btw

This is a really cool capture. I know exactly how it must have been. I actually took a similar shot in Peru awhile back-- [link] --where the kids got all together at once. I like yours a lot better though... they were obviously more in motion and your setting and compostion are a lot better... You're probably a lot taller than I am! haha. Well anyway, nice work. It's fascinating how kids in less priviledged situations outside the States will react to cameras and foreigners in general, and you captured it very well.

This is much too sweet, indeed! I love the expressiveness in this, the tones and contrasts highlighting the facial expressions, the innocence of the children, the beauty of children, the freeness of being who they are, wonderful capture of mood...beautiful.

Great shot, unnessarily blunt and uneducated comments from some, but a great shot with a wonderfully happy feel to it and a great location!

how innocent they look, it was taken as you said 2002? these palestinian kids are probably dead by now from the isreali terror against the palestinian/kids

I do appreciate you taking the time to look and comment on my image.
But, i do have several problems. I don't know why you decided to make a political statement in this forum. First of all, the picture is not a journalistic work - rather a travel documentary.
Secondly, the children in this picture are Israeli citizens living in the port city of Acco. Acco is an Israeli city with a mixed Jewish/Arab population. ALL of the residents of Acco are Israeli citizens - Jewsa andArabs alike.
Finally, if I had posted a picture of young Israelis sitting at a cafe, would you have also said that they are probably dead by now after being blown to bits by a Palestinian suicide bomber???
I have every hope that the region will reach a true and lasting agreement. I have every hope that Israel will withdraw from Palestinian cities and the the Palestininians will have their own, fully independant country. I don't think that comments such as yours are benficial to the cause.
Anyway, please, keep creating art and commenting on art. I am fully open to political discussions and dialouge - but I don't think that this particular image or forum is the appropriate one for that!
Have a great day.

There is so much action in this shot. you can immediately feel the emotions of the children. Very candid. And yet the perspective is very dynamic.
A very energetic shot!

I like the description of the picture.
Iยดm glad you had your camera at hand in the right moment, because situations like that come and go in such a short time. The result just speaks for itself.

Now, in this one you caught not only the work aspect of the fotography, that you done very well, but the luck'n'nrandom factor of this job/passion...
Spontaneus and expressive...

it's gorgeous... I do have a suggestion to make... don't know how much of a purist you are, but could you try to sharpen the kids a bit more?
the shot is so good, it deserves max quality, because it deserves to be seen in great newspapers, magazines... this is national-geographic worthy, really...
