This is extremely symbolic to someone like me who lives in the Western United States. I have been to NYC and to me this picture just gives me the idea of being so close but so far away from the strangely beautiful city. I left part of my heart in NYC and it was not til I visited that I truly knew what "I Heart NY" truly meant. I see all these people flaunt these shirts around all over other parts of the world and I wonder, Do they truly know what it means to love NY? Or do they think its just a popular shit to wear? I know why I wear mine. To say, hey I made it there and fell in love, so I can make it anywhere. All the measily traffic of the rest of USA is in no comparison to NYC, the noise, the diversity, NYC truly does dance to a different beat than the rest of the USA and that is why this gate with its framing reminds me of a world apart message. One so close to those of us who truly love NYC, yet so distant in the world we view everyday.
