Description
Today I went to the monument to meet with the WWII Soviet veterans who saved us many years ago from the Nazis. While everyone was thanking this veteran he was crying..he couldn't say a word..he was happy that people remember their deeds..and remember people and soldiers who died during the war. I thank all the veterans who fought and made our world a better place.UPDATE: I got rid of the stroke and the USSR stars near my signature. This photo doesn't need decorations.
update2: minor color adjustments

I don't much focus on the acts of veterans, though I know they do a lot.
This picture pulled my attention and got me connected.
I wanted to comfort him.
And that is what a picture should do.
You nailed it.
Extraordinary!

My first favorite on this account, a gorgeous photo depicting an apparently gracious man. Glad he gets to see that people do remember his and his brothers' actions.

You captured this munificently , tears welled up in my eyes as a looked. We truly can not forget the past for it would be a tragedy if we did.

I don't think it matter where this photo was taken, or which country the veteran is from; what matters is that the men and women who gave up their lives to fight for their country are being remembered for their deeds.
All of my grandparents fought in WWII, and it shaped their lives after as well. I'm always horrified when my generation ignore the sacrifices those men and women make. I wear the poppy with pride.

It isn't only our grandparents. So many people forget that there are over 32 conflicts internationally, including the current "War in the Middle East."
We have veterans of that war, and people currently in active duty. They need to have their respects paid to as well.

Interesting this comes up now - a few minutes after Veteran's Day. Very fitting for the day; very telling picture of the pain, sorrow and loneliness of war.
