Description
Today I went to the monument to meet with the WWII Soviet veterans who saved us many years ago from the Nazis. While everyone was thanking this veteran he was crying..he couldn't say a word..he was happy that people remember their deeds..and remember people and soldiers who died during the war. I thank all the veterans who fought and made our world a better place.UPDATE: I got rid of the stroke and the USSR stars near my signature. This photo doesn't need decorations.

Beautiful photograph! however, I would recommend making the ribbon on his lapel black and white too as I, and I'm sure most viewers, have absolutely no idea of its significance and it detracts from the much more poignant part of this photograph - his expression.

It bears a lot of significance to ex-USSR people and is immediately recognizable, and a very nice touch to this photo, IMHO.

it says alot in one photo. you're a great photographer honestly, because this photo says a whole lot more than what it shows. kinda makes me sad and i dont know. mixed feelings and honestly a beautiful shot. great job!!!

Can't imagine what he and the other veterans have actually been through..when you read about war and see footage from war, you can get a little hint as to how it was, but..if you didn't go through it, you'll never really know. Ever.

That is an incredibly strong image. The Veteran's expression says it all. The black and white on the rest of the photo really isolates the ribbon on his suit. Great work.

This photo alone almost made me cry. I am so touchy when it comes to the old wars and seeing a man who was once a strong soldier fighting alone the blood shed of his fellow man, it makes me feel so weak and so small.

If there was ever a moment where i looked at a picture and thought "Is this hanging up in a museum?" now is one of those moments. It's a perfect picture. The pure emotion in it just makes me want to jump up and hug the man, say thank you to him, and tell him something funny to get a smile back to his face. Just jump up and yell, "Hey! Don't cry! You have to smile! It's good for your health ya know!" And hope it would make him laugh. The raw urge to help him and the cherish him, to celebrate with him is so strong when looking at this picture. Thank you for such a beautiful piece.
