hello there,
I would like to do the same thing as you did with the conky bar, but cant make the bar get to the end of the screen (i have 1680x1050 px). So how did you do that? I have tried to resize the background.png file and modifying the parameters, but doesnt work.
And then, how do you make the covergloobus to share the same space,or been on top of the bar?

Use the Liquid Rescale plugin in GIMP to resize it, in the conky config file I searched for 1366 (which is the original res) and changed it to suit my screen, saved what I had changed and I was away laughing. I placed CG in the spare space of conky and it always stayed above conky.

Well it seems that the re sizing worked (not sure why didn't work yesterday) but I have a problem with the CG. Gets below conky and not visible at all, so I think that is because it starts before conky and when conky gets painted it covers CG widget.
Only way to see it, is to configure CG to be "always on top", but is not what I want, it doesn't feel as part of conky.
Any idea how to solve the problem?
I was hoping there is a way to delay CG to be launched only after conky gets painted.

Maybe you need to extend your conky start delay in your script to say 30 seconds or so and see how that goes.

I think I got it.
In the .startconky file that I have, which launches .conky_launchpad with a delay (for the system to start), I launch CG with an even bigger delay. So far so good, but problem is that when I touch the desktop with the mouse, the CG goes behind and then is lost for good, unless I go to the little icon and configure it to be always on top.
Any suggestion how to fix that? i have tried with the own_window_type and set it to desktop and dock without any success..so back to normal.
Damn it, cant be that difficult

I'm not sure, I'm not having that issue, maybe if there is a setting for Conky to be set always on the bottom?
