Description
"Art in the blood can take the strangest forms." - Sherlock Holmes
Tony 's parents!
His father, Ron, is the image of a working line bred border collie. His breeder didn't care that much for his looks, which is why he is dark, has pointy ears, long legs and short-ish fur, his working ability was always more important for the breeder. Ron lives and grew up at the farm his humans breeds sheep and border collies at. He's a work-a-holic, who feels best utterly exhausted after a day spent chasing around 1000s of sheep together with his human. Ron is no stupid dog, yet more of a focused, straight-forward worker with not all too much humor or playfulness.
Tony's mother, Lady Grey, is actually a trained movie-dog, who belongs to a friend of Tony's breeder, who only leased her to breed because of her extra-ordinary intelligence. She is artistic, humorous, polite, friendly and out-going.
She got along well with Ron, yet both knew it was more duty than it was love. Lady Grey left soon after the pups were weaned and they grew up another 2 month with their father and aunts and uncles afterwards, before going to their new humans.
Tony always felt more connected to his mother, even if he only knew her shortly, he loved her stories about all the adventures she had had.
He also was the only liliac puppy in the litter and the only one with more artistic interest than his siblings, who all were just very much into herding, like their father.
This probably also is the reason why Tony was sold to his humans, because he was no good herding material and the breeder didn't really know what else to do with that brainiac puppy. XD

I heard a little about it and Golden merle also is pretty hard to find. But this explains his colors because one parents has it. It surprised me to learn that Border collies have more shades than just black and white...these dogs simply amaze me to no end.
