Description
This is the textured Proficienct Class cruiser for the New Republic fleet in the Star Wars: Interregnum mod for Sins of a Solar Empire. This particular mesh is often called the Corellian Destroyer but it fits the size and general design requirements for the otherwise vaguely described Proficient class. The mesh is originally done by EvilJedi, although this particular instance of it was source from the Rise of the Mandalorians mod for Empire at War. Additional turret geometry was sourced from Jeroenimo's Empire at War: Remake mod. The UVs and textures are all new.Related content

I like that rationalization. Both the Corellian Destroy and Proficient classes were never really described in detail. So this works for me.

Nice design. It's always been clear from back to the original film that the Corellian Engineering Corporation built ships for the Empire/Republic, but with rare exceptions (and the Pelta-class frigate looks like a Corellian design even though it's credited to KDY), the ships we've seen in Imperial livery have always been Kuati, not Corellian.

This almost looks like Exeter Galaxon's exploration ship from Hasbro-Milton-Bradley-Marvel-Toei's Robotix: The Animated Series.

This might well by my favourite of your New Republic ship-classes; I really love the strong hint of a design lineage dating back to the Consular-class (which might actually be my very favourite STAR WARS design, although the Naboo starships - fighter and royal yacht - from that film give it Serious competition).
Also, it's good to see the 'Republic Red' look being used again, after all those years of bleak grey hulks in Imperial service.

Funny you should mention that, as the Old Republic Consular-Class, which this ship resembles, was actually based on that concept. When they made the Prequels, the Consular-class was made as a sort of "de-evolved" version of the Blockade Runner.

I love how sleek and compact the design is. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm getting a very strong impression of the Old Republic Consular class when I look at the bridge and engines.

I've seen this in a few mods for Empire at War, usually as a tier 5 starship for Rebel/New Republic factions. Most of them just call it the Corellian Destroyer. Nice to finally have a name for it though.

Yeah, that's the typical usage of it. The Proficient is listed as an 850m long Corellian made ship though, which seemed to fit this design quite nicely - so we just assigned the mesh to an actual canon design.

It works. I like the old Consular ship from TPM so this looks like an even more badass merging of CR90, Consular, and Corellian Gunship. All my favorite Corellian designs rolled into one.

And yeah, given that this ship was manufactured by Corellia as well, I wanted to at least try to use a similar visual style as with the smaller Corellian textures I had done. If it hadn't worked out, I probably would have fallen back to the other New Republic style that I've been using but I think this worked out not too badly.

The thing is, that most New Republic ships were given like the same colour style than Corellian ships like the CR-90, so it becames a chaos to try to make a differentiation and they end-up mixing I think.
