Must have been some horde, Fawkes is one tough customer, though not invincible. And I guess the inclusion of Super mutant Overlords would probably add a lot of damage dealing potential to the super mutant groupsΒ

Now that I think about it, it wasn't that big of a horde and there weren't even any Overlords in it. That's the worst part about it. And you'd think I would have died shortly afterwards, but no, I survived without a problem. I don't think I even had to heal myself.
I've had Fawkes get killed against an army of Enclave soldiers too. But that at least made sense, since there were probably over a hundred of them. Not to mention I died at least five times in that same area.

huh, sounds like fawkes was having an off day, happens to the best of us I guess, I remember being killed by radroaches once because I wasn't paying attention
Though in my defence it was on hardcore in new vegas with survival mods

I love all the companions accept Cross... Something about that woman and her whole sha-bang of being good... weird.

You can find him at the scrapyard, it's south of the minefield you visit for The Wasteland Survival Guide quest.

um i tryed to go the scrapyard and checked it out and he wasn't there also i already finished the wasteland survival guide and still can't find him and did look for the place where their was gun shots and whining and found dead bodies of raiders and nothing more plus i found the shed in the scrapyard but can't find the key please help me

Ah, I've never had him not show up. You could try using wait at that spot and see if he appears then. Or you could check outside Vault 101 since that's where he goes when he's "fired." And I think you can only get into the shed if you have the contract killer perk.

i have had them all follow me except from butch,clover and jericho i like to keep fawkes as my follower anyway as he is near invinsable and dogmeat as he can sniff out things

Heh. I ended up with Fawkes because I hadn't done many sidequests before completing the storyline quest within the Enclave, and was weighed down with Enclave power armor, and needed a pack mule. Helped me get through the final non-DLC mission before I started Broken Steel as well ^^

This is the hierarchy of followers based on my experiences, with Broken Steel, and one ridiculously strong enemy thrown in for comparison.

I accidentally got a critical hit on Dog Meat's head with a Gauss Rifle
That was the equivalent of shooting him several times with a BB gun. (While Raider's often instantly die by a Gauss Rifle)

I have actually TRIED to kill Dogmeat before. He shrugs off mini nukes like a Brotherhood Paladin, in full armor, would shrug off a hit from a baseball bat. By the gods do I love that dog.
