Just dropping in with some quick updates! I've been busy as anything lately (as my last journal probably showed) and been enjoying most of my free time offline. I have some news for those who are in New York state (particularly the capital region) for this weekend, followed by some other small things I thought I would mention for the time being.

This Sunday (June 15th) I'm going to be at the Albany Comic Con. with the co-president of my writer's group, selling advanced copies of our non-profit anthology Cat Tails. We'll also have a few copies of books that others in the group have either written or worked on (my co-president is bringing his novel, I'll have a few copies of my cousin's books I helped with [mainly marketing], some self-published work by our other group members, and some small anthologies that I worked on during internships in Boston). Everything will range from $2-$10, and we're hoping to sell out there! All money raised will also be donated to animal shelters around New York state. The first batch of money will be divided between Heart of the Catskills in Delhi and the Animal Rescue Foundation of Beacon. Here's a (very bad quality) photo of some of the books that will be available for sale at our booth:
         

The convention will run from 10AM-4PM at the Holiday Inn on Wolf Road. Please let me know if you're going to be in the area and/or at the convention! I'll give you a discount on any book(s) you may be interested in. Please note that copies are limited to what we have in stock. Our books we put out, Cat Tails and The Autumn Gray, are the two we have the most of, but the other books are back-issues and are limited to what's left that we were given by the authors. So come early if you want to pick some up! And even if you can't buy books or aren't interested in any we have, please come by and say "hi" anyway! We don't bite I'm really excited and can't wait for Sunday! I'm hoping we have a great turn out and sell out of books so we have a nice, hefty check to give to the shelters.

Tomorrow night is also Comic Book Night at Bruno Stadium in Albany-- kicking off comic book weekend! I'll also be there, watching the game and helping my grandpa with his comic work he's signing for the event, as well as bringing a few copies of Cat Tails as a teaser to Sunday's show. I'll be selling them for $10 at the game, so if you can't make the convention but are going to be at the ballgame, come find me! (I'll be hanging around the comic artists' table until the game starts, then in section E of the stands. I'll be wearing all Captain America stuff, so I shouldn't be hard to miss!)

We also have a book signing coming up at a local store in town called Happy Paws. They are a store that runs solely on donations, but all money they make goes to the SPCA of Ulster County. We're still waiting back on a date, but in the next few weeks, we'll be having a book signing there, selling copies of Cat Tails to raise money for the SPCA! We'll have tons of copies available, cat shaped cookies and treats, and the SPCA is even bringing down some kittens to sit at the table with us! We are very excited and will be announcing more about that soon-- though the SPCA and Happy Paws are going to e-mail blast it to all their subscribers and have flyers around town (and surrounding towns) and have a few things in the local newspapers about it. We are so excited!

Now, in non-book related news... There's one week until my birthday! It feels like it was literally just my birthday not that long ago. It's hard to believe the year is already half over. We're going to celebrate by going out for a lobster bake and then come back to my place for cake and ice cream. Yummy! My little brother is also graduating in two weeks-- which seems impossible. He was awarded a scholarship last night for his participation in golf, as well, so that was really exciting for him. We're throwing him a huge graduation party with a bunch of food and my extended family is all going to gather to congratulate him. He's starting school at SUNY Ulster in the fall and then planning on transferring to ESF at Syracuse University.

And, the last thing before I head off to watch the rest of my Friday the 13th movie marathon... I haven't really had updates on my diet lately (except for those who are on my Facebook and see the updates physically-- haha). I'm super proud to say that I have surpassed my first weight goal target and am moving towards my second. I'm only about 10lbs away from being where I want to be. When I first started my diet back in October, I was wearing XXL shirts. I now fit comfortably in a M! I've also gone down from a size 44x30 pant to a 36x30! Overall, I'm feeling amazing

Another press picked it up so we finally got around to getting it out! (The first team that was supposed to work on it bailed, so it was taking a while getting different people together to devote time to it).

The con was absolutely great! I'll be posting a journal about that shortly

Long time no write. It's been a while since I saw a journal for you. Not much else to say about my own life, save that my parents and sister (and one very odd... cog) are in Calgary. I stayed home because I needed to do my laundry. After two, maybe two and a half weeks, it was starting to overflow my basket - and stink, so...
