Comic Book Weekend in Albany was absolutely wonderful! I had a great time hanging out with my family and friends and talking to fans (both of my grandpa's work and people who remembered me from past shows). It was definitely a nice, needed break!
Saturday, we went to Bruno Stadium to see the Tri-City Valley Cats play against the Connecticut Tigers. The Valley Cats didn't have a good game, but everyone had a lot of fun there! I helped my grandpa set up his table for the game with some of his prints and baseball comics that he worked on to give away to eager fans, and the baseball cards of him that were made up last year when he was the guest of honour and got to throw out the first pitch of the game. This year, fellow comic artist Ron Marz delivered the first pitch. It was great! I spent the night with my brother, basically wandering around and pigging out on food at the concession stands (since I could enjoy the food this year since last year, I was rushed to the hospital for kidney stones at the start of the game ) and showing off copies of Cat Tails-- which we even sold a few of at the game! The night ended with a fireworks show over the stadium, which was really nice. We got home around midnight after dropping my grandpa off at his house. I was exhausted!
Then, first thing the next morning, we packed the car with everything we needed for the Albany Comic Con. and headed back up. Overall, it was a success! We sold about half of our books we brought and got to talk to people about our upcoming publications and get them interested. We also managed to sell some of the other collections that we brought along, and some of the other members' work they offered to have us sell at our booth. My grandpa (who was right next to us) made out great, as well, and sold a bunch of art/commissions/posters/books of his own (as he always does, haha). But, this year, there were more guests than ever before! I think what made the convention so great was that I got to go with my friends and fellow writers Joe and Vicky. Joe helped me man our booth (since he's the co-president of our writing group) and Vicky got to explore the convention and pick up some things for the both of them. After everything was over, we went out for dinner together as a big group with my family and their friends to celebrate the success! I can't wait for tomorrow when I can give payment to the writers whose books sold and let the other members know of the numbers of our sales. We just about raised $70 for the animal shelter at the convention alone!
So, overall, it was a lovely weekend! I'm just exhausted now from the lack of sleep the last few days and can't wait for my day off on Friday since summer publishing hours are starting back up at work. Also, Friday's my birthday, so I'm looking forward to spending the day with my family and relaxing until our lobster bake dinner. Yummy!
I'll try to update when I can. Things are busy for me and I haven't been on more than a simple coming on to quickly check messages. If anyone wants to keep in contact on a better basis, I'm on my Facebook and Twitter much more often (since they are mobile, and I have to use them at work) and I can exchange details with you (via note!). Plus, I update more there with what's going on with story progress, personal stuff, etc. So, let me know if you want to connect on FB or Twitter!
Until next time, I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week! I'll probably be on Friday for quick updates if all goes well! Take care, everyone!

That's basically where I only am and get in contact with people these days, haha. Mainly since it's so vital to social media and for work! I've actually become more invested in Facebook surprisingly these last few months.

Heh. I think it's just because it's such a vital part to social media for marketing that it's been helpful and entertaining. Plus most of my friends are over there, so it makes it easier keeping up with everyone in one place.
