Description
Pineoctopus, the infamous monster of that carnival episode of the original Power Rangers. This guy would turn people into cardboard standups of themselves, and did several other silly things too. An amazing fusion of a pinecone/pineapple and an octopus, this guy was beaten by the power rangers combining their weapons, just like they did with every monster that didn't grow. Oh yeah, he was also originally disguised as a clown, who liked to abduct little girls. Sketchy! The pineoctopus needed to be drawn.

If you can believe it, he's even lamer in Zyuranger; his powder there was just sneezing powder.

I remember this episode. I was actually more scared of the clowns than I was the monster. I'll take a power ranger villain of a week over clowns anyday!

Probably one of the crazier monsters from the show - but I like some quirky randomness once in a while! I can see what you mean about him NEEDING to be drawn

Thanks for drawing this and letting it into Kaijuden (I'm its co-founder BTW); there's a lot of art dedicated to the Power Rangers out there, but barely any of it related to the monsters / villains, minus the droves of Lord Zedd pieces and some fetish crud...which even I must admit I am guilty of, though thankfully in better taste:

Yes, this may be just a quickie, but any 'normal' fan art dedicated to the subject matter, and Pineoctopus of things, is greatly appreciated. In fact, it inspired me to do so more traditional illustrations on PR villains, starting with Face Stealer and Beevil.

pretty sweet. Though Terror Toad and the traffic enforcing Shellshock will always be my fav from the first series.

Coulda sworn he DID grow in that episode...and they beat him using the Triceratops zord.

This Monster was lame, it didn't even need the Megazord to be killed just the individual Zords(specifically the Mastodon's freeze ah.. "snort"/breath, followed by the T-Rex's mouth blast) and that was it took to kill this guy off.

Original series was good, with Rita and Zedd. Zeo was okay.
But, once they hit Turbo, it just got dumber and dumber.
I miss the good old days.

Well, PR In Space managed to be a huge step up from Turbo. After that, the series was sporadic. You had the lame (Ninja Storm, Operation Overdrive), the average (Lost Galaxy, Time Force), and the great (Dino Thunder, SPD)

PR in Space was good for one reason: The Psycho Rangers (still the evil clone team to beat!) Other than that, it was mostly a swan song for all the beloved characters of the past, both good and bad. I mean, they had all the past villains appear in the first episode, and the series was a fine chance for every villain to shine: Rita, Zedd, Mondo, Divatox, and every last stock Minion and Monster (except Rito Revolto). Instead, they get cast off to conquer other planets while the show focuses on Astronema and Andros' angst towards her. I understand that she's the major antagonist, but this was a very badly-missed opportunity.
I think it was when they had Zordon killed in the finale that the overall series began to descend into crap. He was the one who held it all together in the first place. Without him, there IS no Power Rangers. I think that's why they eventually brought back Tommy "I'm an overused character" Oliver, when they realized that they couldn't bring back the big Z, so they had to get the fans back with some other familiar face.
Sorry for the rant.

Hey, at least Rita and Zedd occasionally appeared in Zeo, but, yeah. The series has just gotten lame.
