Preten-Deer is the DNA sample of a Not-Deer. An unnerving species of Cryptid.

General Information:
Some Cryptids are strange, some are predatory and hostile, but some, like the Not-Deer, cross the border into uncanny valley territory. When driving along the road near an open field or at the edge of a wooded area, one may often notice a group of deer prancing around, eating grass, or running away when seeing a human. However, on rare occasions, you might notice one among the group that just looks... wrong. Either it's just a very weird deer, or you've just encountered a Not-Deer.

It was encounters such as this which drew the attention of the Saturdays. A series of strange photographs posted on social media about strange looking deer with many deformities and unusual behavior. An investigation was launched and both the Saturdays and the Plumbers began a tenuous search for the latest Cryptid sighting. As it turned out, the Saturdays already knew about this Cryptid as they had encountered them before. Drew described the oddities and habits of the Not-Deer, stating them to be curious but not outright hostile to humans. Not-Deer were strange because they seemed to have a natural curiosity towards humans, staring at them from afar, sometimes even stalking them for hours or days without stopping. On a few occasions, they have attacked, but only when someone tried to strike them first or scare them off.

Furthermore, it appears that their outward appearance is little more than a disguise to hide what they really are, which would explain the abnormalities in physical appearance and motor functions. While the mostly resemble deer, a few notable differences can be seen if watched closely. Some of these differences would include: backwards facing legs, front facing eyes, eyes of different animals (sometimes even humans), twitchy and jerky movements, standing up on its hind legs for extended periods of time and strangest of all, mimicking human speech.

Most Not-Deer sightings were debunked by authorities or social media as deer infected with CWD otherwise known as Chronic Wasting Disease (or Zombie Deer Disease as some nickname it). Another unsettling discovery previously made about Not-Deer is that their animal disguise wasn't an occurrence of their own natural physiology but something they made to hide themselves from prying eyes. Their disguise is a skinsuit created from the hollowed out carcass of a normal deer. Their true form is a writhing black amorphous goo with no discernible traits.

It goes without saying that whatever these Cryptids really are, whether actually Cryptids or extraterrestrial, what is certain is that they are definitely NOT deer.

Ben and the Team had scoured the woodlands outside Bellwood for hours and at least five Not-Deer were found. All of them had been living in the forest relatively peacefully for a decade or two, and Ben had managed to scan their DNA with the Omnitrix, unlocked a new form.

On a final note, when the five Not-Deer were being transported back to Plumber HQ, Ben had seen a sixth one running among the trees and chased after it, when he'd cornered the beast, he made direct eye contact with it, and in an unusually high degree of ferocity attacked Ben, attempting to jump on his chest, pummel him with its hooves and maul his face. Due to its aggression, Ben was forced to put it down but he did notice a strange marking on its arm. It looked like a tattoo of a logo with a faded tagline at the bottom, something which the others didn't have.

Ben though nothing of it but had he been paying attention, he'd would've seen the Omnitrix detect energies of a recent spatial disturbance.
