Yes you are all right, there were not enough women in lead roles in the various movies (apart from Bulma, Chi Chi and various girlfriends and androids etc), but most were portreyed in a whingey, controlling kind of way and none (apart from the android girl) as strong and independant.
So great job on your Saiyan girl. She is just waht we need. I would like to see her in full fighting armour tho. Are you going to do more versions of her at any stage?

Well, maybe she's such a badass that she's not wearing much armor to almost say she doesn't need it, as if she's taunting and mocking her opponents by almost saying she can beat them half naked.
She is a Saiyan after all, and we all know how "humble" they are
