They can be especially Diane's stories some of which have higher word-counts then War and Peace or the average Michael Jordan Novel.

Aiden and Jordan were always in trouble. Between investigating "haunted houses" and doing graveyard seances, these two delinquents always found some form of mischief to get involved in. On this day, the pair were investigating a rumor that a freaky "mutant thing" hiding in a out-o-the-way drainage culvert at the edge of the city.
Aiden, a lean built boy with glasses thicker than a Coke bottle, began his initial investigation around the culvert itself. Jordan, a fair but wispy brunette, was preparing to do the spelunking.
"Ropes, flashlight, glow sticks, first aid kit, walkie-talkies, yeah, it looks all is in preparedness."
"Jordan, are we really going down there?"
"Yes. And what makes you so skittish all of a sudden? Aren't you the one who rushes headlong into haunted mansions without a flashlight?!"
"Be that as it may," Aiden retorted, "But it smells something awful down there. And you know how I feel about dead bodiesβ¦"
"Right, rightβ¦" Jordan replies.
Ten minutes later, Aiden and Jordan are crawling through the culvert. Twenty minutes later, they stopped at junction between several sewer passages. There was evidence all around which suggested local gangs had been down here: graffiti, beer cans, used sneakers, a baggie of what looked like fresh mary jane, and an empty pistol, it's magazine removed.
"This is freaky." Jordan deadpanned.
"It looks like a gansters paradise down here." Adien added, "but why in the Hell were they down here for?"
Before Jordan could answer, a horrible wailing sound is heard. The two jump in fright, as the sound reverberated along the graffiti brick walls.
"What the-?" Jordan started.
There was a rush of movement, like a powerful gust of wind and soon, Jordan found herslf along in the dark. Turning on the pot, she looked everywhere for Aiden, who suddenly disappeared from sight.
"Aiden? Aiden where are you? AIDEN?!"
And that when she saw itβ¦

Turns to find out that the "mutant" is really a psychotic homeless girl looking for some fashion sense.
She doesn't like guys much, though, so she trows them deeper into the sewerβ¦
She also plays for the other team, if you know what I mean.

"Follow in our foot steps they said. Go out and hunt ghosts and solve mysteries they said. have a good time they said. Here's the captial to get Mystery Inc 2.0 up and running. Thanks a lot mom and dad. This never happened to you." Patrick Jones grumbled as she trudged through the maze beneath the old wizard's lair.
Her hand stole to her ear to press the bud within. "Aunt Velma, where are the others?"
"If my readings are correct Scooby Two and Nora should be just around the next bend." Pat could just picture her aunt pushing her dark framed glasses up on her button nose, the glow of the Mystery Machine's computers back lighting her in a green halo.
"Copy that. Aunt Madelyn make sure the decon chamber's ready. Stumbled through a potion spill and I've got a chest now that put's my mom's to shame."
"At least her Danger prone genes don't seem to have been activated." Madelyn Dinkly-Rodgers replied with a small smile.
"Thank goodness for small favors." Pat muttered as she stooped down and began humming a song her mother had written long ago when the original Mystery Inc had just started out. "Scooby doobey do where are you..."
