Nox was exhausted. Like more exhausted than he's been for a long while.
His body was achy, his nose runny, and his eyes were irritated, which all in all didn't seem like a good time.
Nox found where Toby was playing and picked him up, trying not to make his pain too apparent as he sat down with his son.

Nox smiled weakly. "Papa isn't feeling too well, seems like I've gotten ill. I'm going to need to rest for a while, buddy" The quad ruffled Tobys hair, but the kit frowned, growing a bit anxious with worry. "Papa.... are.... are you okay? You're not going to.... you're going to be okay, aren't you??"
"Of course, pumpkin! But I'm going to need you to do a favor for me, you think you're up for it?
Toby nodded with a frown, still obviously worried.

Nox held up a letter that was in his paw and gave it to Toby. "Finley should be in town where we set up shop. Could you give this letter to them? It's a letter asking her to come over and take care of you while I rest up"
The wyngling nodded and gave Nox a big hug.
"I can do it, papa"
Nox wrapped his arms around his son and held him tight, feeling awful that how badly Toby is worrying for him.
"You're the best, Toby. I think it's time I go to bed now"
"Can I help?"

Toby crawled on top of Nox as he made his way around him, tucking the blanket under him the best he could like papa did to him at night. It was a lot harder than it looked. He missed the look of pain that flashed across the quads face as he walked on him, too concentrated on not crying and tucking his dad into bed properly.
"Thank you for tucking papa in, little peanut" Nox smiled sincerely at his son as Toby settled back down and gave him a pat. The kit was sniffling, small tears in his eyes as he gave his papa one more hug.
"Rest good, Papa..."
The adult nodded and gave his son a small kiss on the forehead.
"Be safe now. Papa loves you!"
"I will, papa! I love you too"

Toby is the best boy. What has Nox done to deserve this bestest boy in the world.
