I decided to write a little bio/history to accompany it.

History:
After FOXHOUND survivor Revolver Ocelot escaped Shadow Moses Island with the original Metal Gear REX's blueprints and sold them on the black market, REX variants began appearing across the globe. One buyer of the plans, the Black Gryphon group, radically redesigned REX into an anti-Metal Gear fighting unit.

The nuke-firing railgun was redesigned to primarily fire either conventional warheads or clip-fed, heavy armor-piercing rounds. It retained the rest of REX's armaments and added extendable arms with mounted machineguns and claws for melee combat. Its "mouth" also mounts a flamethrower instead of the cockpit, which has been moved into the upper torso. The Metal Gear mode is typically used when heavier firepower is necessary. To counter the weakness presented by the REX's shoulder-mounted radome, additional cameras were mounted on this variant's armor so the pilot wouldn't need to open the cockpit and allowing the radome to focus primarily on targetting.

Its most unique feature is its ability to transform from its Metal Gear form to an upright humanoid form dubbed "Mobile Suit mode" based on one developer's comment: "It's like formal wear you can take anywhere on the battlefield." The Mobile Suit mode's advantage is that it is more maneuverable on the battlefield than a standard Metal Gear. It is in this mode that the railgun's rapid-fire mode is usually engaged. All other weapons are disabled since they are mounted in the torso and can only fire fowards, which the railgun in this mode can be aimed in almost any direction. The head also mounted a set of sensors which could be turned in any direction for more comprehensive coverage.

This REX variant was tested in secret against other examples of REX variants, prototypes for other Metal Gear models, and, once they became widespread, Metal Gear Gekkos. The superiority of this REX variant over its opponents led to it being dubbed the T-REX. Unfortunately, the T-REX was never pitted against Metal Gear RAY, the first official anti-Metal Gear weapon, because all examples of it had either been stolen by the Patriots or destroyed defending Arsenal Gear.
