I know it's kindof huge but, ya here's a tutorial on making icons or stuff blink :3
I hope this helps all of you who are desperate to create blinking animations XD

Maybe it's the thing you're using to view it, have you tried opening it with your internet browser?

when I create a new layer, it wont let me erase that layer

It might be glitching, Gimp does that sometimes.
You could try restarting it or restarting your computer. There are also two ways to delete a layer using the garbage can sign on the lower right of the toolbox or right clicking the layer and then click "delete layer"

yep~ someone told me how to fix it, I had to delete the file, and et t re-generate by itself

did you check the size to make sure it was 50x50? gimp has a tendency to make things 1 pixel off even tho u set it exactly 50x50 it might of put it to like 49x49 or 51x51 or something like that
