Okay, I lied. Couldn't get what I was drawing initially to look right, so I decided to draw this spongy leviathan instead. Behold, the Royal Ludroth!
I am mainly a Dual Blade hunter with a big thirst for stamina. Fresh squeezed (Mega) Dash Juice always hits the spot when on the hunt. You can get one of the ingredients for this drink, known as Dash Extract, from a few select monsters. Now you'd ask, which monster would I prefer to have my addictive beverage served to by? A rubber chicken with kleptomania or a badass iguana sponge with a harem? I think the answer's pretty obvious here. Oh R. Ludroth. You served me well as my go-to monster for my drinks in MH3U. You and the other absent leviathans have my sympathy.
Note: Purple Ludroth = Pink Lemonade!

With RoyalLudroth it was a nice and simple fight. With Gypceros it's "Break that crystal like your life depends on it". And even still then. Gypceros has Old Monster syndrome.

I was surprised that they didn't at least bring Agnaktor back for 4U. Didn't have any underwater fights with him or Glacial...

Agnaktor being my favorite monster(glacial specifically) and leviathans being my favorite monster type, I'm incredibly disappointed agnaktor didn't get in to 4U. He would be literally perfect for the environments we hunt in for 4U. Could you imagine him digging out of and shooting lasers from the walls? That would be one hell of a fun fight.

Yeah nibelsnarf would've been really cool to fight in a desert that wasn't completely flat like the sandy plains were. Leviathans in general are too cool for capcom to be justified in not putting any in 4u.

Yeah. The only ones that would have been justified to remove would be Gobul, Ludroth, and Lagiacrus, as most of the fights with them are usually underwater anyway, but Lagiacrus could have easily been reworked. I mean, the series had Plesioth WAY before underwater combat was introduced in Tri, and he worked just fine.

simplest fix would've been to give him ivory's moveset, since ivory lagiacrus is fought on land 90% of the time.
ludroth would still be a really cool monster if he was limited to land.
gobul should go hang himself.

Well, Gobul wasn't really meant for land combat; I think only 5-10% of a Gobul fight is on land, if at all. And I doubt you could give him moves like the amphibians, as its "legs" aren't really legs at all, but just modified fins a lá lungfish. But Ludroth would work if you use that Ivory argument; just give him the moveset and behaviors of the Purple Ludroth, since Purpy NEVER entered the water.
Honestly, I see quite a few missed opportunities Capcom could have easily taken to make 4U an even more fun experience, especially when it came to the types of monsters they could have used.

I'd imagine fire aggy would be immune to mounts unless his magma armor was broken/solidified. Mounting any leviathan would be pretty fun though.
