Don's model is fantastic, but does anyone know of a original Yamato mesh out there?

Thanks.
I'll have to see if I can get some one to do a conversion to a format I can use.

It is... In the story of Space Battleship Yamato, the Earth has been bombed, by aliens, to the point that man cannot live on the surface.

So how do they live? Pressure domes or do we go underground?

In underground cities.
Unfortunately the radiation from the Gamilas 'planet bombs' is reaching the cities and affecting the people. The Gamilas can tolerate the higher radiation levels and plan to colonize Earth after the human infestation is eradicated. The planet Iscandar offers a device that will nullify the radiation to Earth, but Humanity must travel 296000 light years to Iscandar and return with the device within one year. The only ship left capable to do this is the Yamato, a rebuilt WWII Battleship sunk in 1945. This is the story of that mission...
Released in the US as 'Starblazers', a very watered down version of the original.
Soon to be a live action movie.

I haven't found a good one yet. I do have an old theatrical release that is much closer to the original (less editing) than 'Starblazers'. I hope that the new movie will generate a new interest in the original series.

Yes I've seen it. Hope that it will make it over to the US, either in limited release, DVD, or both. I love the story, even more so that I know the history of the Battleship Yamato, and her final mission.

Wow, Star Blazers. I haven't seen that old classic in longer than I care to remember. Good job on the pic, and thanks for a reminder that TV was once worth watching.

Thank you.
Try to see the original Japanese 'Space Battleship Yamato'. It was defiantly NOT for kids. They had to edit out a lot of the violence and all of the sexual innuendos for the US viewers.
