i still dont understand
what do you do after making the layer black and selecting the background....how do you paste de image?

paste is just ctrl and v or right click and paste or edit-paste... or it should be anyway

You can do this much easier. In photoshop go to select, and choose color range. Then click anything black on your picture. Chances are that it will already have it selected. Click Ok.
hit ctrl+J.
and it's that easy.
