Description The Sasquatch (Anthropoarctus americanum) is a bizarre bipedal omnivorous ursid of the clade Tremarctinae, close relatives of the Spectacled bear and short-faced bears, evolved during the pleistocene around 1.4 million years ago, and adopting a convergent hominid primates hip and leg structure which allows them to support its body and walk in a bipedal way.

Its original range of distribution spread across the American continent with different relative to the European, Asian and South American regions, however from the beginning of the Holocene many populations suffered a considerable loss with the extinction of several species, leaving a small surviving population across the world, being A. americanum the last species on the continent.

Is believed that human could have been a strong pressure on their number with possible and constant confrontations by food and space, being during the time of colonization a very important point were these ursids suffered a devastating reduction by the environmental impact caused by the new wave of humans in the following centuries, eventually reaching the modern era where only hundreds of individuals were left wandering through the continent which have barely been able to be sighted and be confused by others of their relative quadrupeds.

very good, this could be the explanation for the Gugwe a type of bigfoot described with an elongated snout similar to a baboon / mandrill or a bear.

Interesting speculation, but there are a number of reasons why I doubt that the sasquatch is a bear, for instance, sasquatch footprints lack claws, they have broad shoulders, and they are commonly described as having human-like noses. Also, I think that the sasquatch's bipedality is a likely indicator that it is a member of the hominin lineage.

Well in that case those are just naked hairy people running around the forest

The size of the reported creatures/beings as well as their long arms and lack of a visible neck would likely indicate otherwise. Also, I think it is far more likely that an unknown bipedal ape is responsible for the sightings than a hypothetical group of people who happen to both be covered in hair and have issues they need to work out that drive them to run around naked in the woods.

I know this is just a fan project thing you did, but some biologists are speculating that descendants of certain prehistoic bears maybe in fact be responsible for the Dogman sightings. Apparently some of these bear species would've more closely resembled overgrown wolves due to their physical build being more canine(since wolves and bears share a common anscestor) and more wolflike fur.

Regardless nice art.

There are many youtube channels that discuss cryptids that have discussed it. Some are pretty credible. I do suggest avoiding Linda Moulton Howe's channel, however. She researches the Dogman stuff alot on her channel but claims they are literal werewolves.

Yeah...
Something I learned over the years is that if the only source of a claim is a youtube video and is just "some biologists" speculate about it is normally not quite good speculation, credibility goes very down as there is not really something else to give ground to such claim, no matter if they "sound" credible

Ah yes, YouTube, the most reliable source for biological/zoological information. Let's see some scientific papers instead.
