Description "Sheatheria is a mostly speculative-evolution-based world-building project of mine concerning a fantastical planet in an alternate universe, a realm superimposed upon our own but normally invisible to us. Though similar in many regards to our own realm, it differs in many fundamental aspects, and many things that occur on Sheatheria would be impossible by the laws of nature we've come to accept. It is a massive planet, eight times the mass of Earth (with a diameter of 26,000 km and the surface area of approximately four Earths) yet its gravity is only 85 percent of Earth's. Unlike planetary bodies in the known universe, planets in this realm - Sheatheria being no exception - are coldest along their equators, where oftentimes great icecaps form.

While there is no true magic in the Sheatherian realm, many of its most basic laws of nature may seem magical to those unacquainted.

We will start with a basic map of the world, showing the basic climactic zones. The world is divided effectively into two vast regions, significantly different in flora and fauna due to the inhibition of biological exchange resulting from the great equatorial icecap."

Does that mean both hemispheres would have different weather patterns.

yes, on the map, the northern hemisphere has 3 deserts, while the south has none

is a parallel universe, where the climate zones are the other way around.  if the earth were there, the antartida be a rainforest, and the Amazons a frozen tundra, or covered by a glacier
