Description The Garden world of Eden. Holds some of the most fertile soil seen throughout the known universe. Though there are many agricultural hotspots located throughout the human galaxy, Eden is by far one of the biggest.

Eden was settled in 2310, but a science expedition, originally sent out to numerous planets and systems to test soil levels, and atmospheric conditions that would be right for the planting of Earth vegetation. Eden, like Terra, was surprisingly close to Earth in terms of atmosphere, but bore very few land vegetation like trees, as the majority of the oxygen came from algea in the sea. When the soil levels tested positive, the planet was quickly colonized by thousands of refugees leaving the ruined earth, and overpopulated planets in the Sori system. Tree saplings, fruit and vegetable seeds were brought over, as well as just about as much of Earth's vegetation as possible in an attempt to convert the planet. within 50 years, the planet was completely converted, during those 50 years, scientists also checked soil on the moons, one of the moons, with an ocean already on it, popped up positive, and efforts to quickly convert it went underway as well.

At the year 2435, when the colonial rebellion broke out, Eden had surpassed Terra and became one of the largest argricultural centers humanity had. Being sparsely populated in comparison to many other colony worlds, Eden had plenty of food to spare. But when the rebellion broke out, it became a warzone. The UCR at this point had several other farming worlds, but they became extremely defensive of them, not wanting them to fall into rebel hands. Eden, like Terra, became a target for the rebels, to feed their armies. for 3 years a war ravaged Eden's surface, but eventually fell to the rebel forces.

After the FCZ was created, the rebel forces that had previously been guarding Eden, and many other planets in the system refused to leave, now taking over the system and it's people. In 2461 when the proxy wars began, the large force had began it's expansion outward, growing greedy, and attacking other former rebel armies they had been allied with. The army became the New Colonial Hegemony, ruthlessly invading and intimidating others to join. Their target was Terra. The attack would fail after a drastic under estimation, and the Terrans would quickly push the rage tag battle armada of stolen ships and modified civilian ships back with the warships they had created during the rebellion, and ultimately take Eden, wiping out the Hegemony.

Eden would remain under Terran control, until the the second Xeno-Terran war, when a surprise Xenos blitzkreig into Terran territory, would cripple the Terran forward fleets, and the fast invasions of hundreds of thousands of clone soldiers would overwhelm the sparsely populated areas.

DESCRIPTION OF EDEN

Eden is approximately larger than earth by 1/4 of earths size, however, 50% of the planet's surface is water. The atmospheric conditions of the planet are exactly the same as Earth. It is a large agricultural center though, because it did not have much land foilage to begin with. The entire surface is covered in farmland now, being constantly tended to to feed the populations of other worlds.
The land is very open, and the soil is extremely fertile, having an effect on Earth crops to make them grow in half the time it took for them to grow on Earth.

It has 2 moons, one of which has also been converted. there was little need to terraform it as the conditions were already appropriate as it was essentially a planet itself.
Eden minor as it's been called, is the larger moon, that has been turned into farmland as well, but only 30% of the surface area is land.

Eden is essentially a civilian planet, housing a small garrison in the area, and few bases, relying more on the military colony nearby, of Khrad to protect the system.

Part of my "The Colonists" Universe concept.

This is the sort of place we'd love to find!  No big surprise that it would be fought over.

The gardens of eden produce plentiful bounties for all.
But there are many who want it for themselves.
