When the war broke out Omorfia was a powerful but inexperienced force whome styled its military more as peacekeepers than soldiers. When their fleet was routed above their home system in an early Imperial raid, they accepted the assistance of another Coalition nation nearby with more practical military experiance- and so over 20'000 soldiers from the Murometian Federation landed upon their world and were present when the Empire returned and launched their invasion of the system. The Imperial invasion in the end, was a success. Omorfian forces were pushed back, the Murometians only had enough men to hold a relatively small portion of the capital world. In the end, many surviving forces and the Omorfian government retreated to small highly defensible locations or hidden bunkers across the planet, the largest Enclave of these was where the Murometian forces were primarily present. Most significant military resistance was ended, and the world was declared fully occupied by Imperial forces. As the war progressed, the Omorfian navy in exile, alongside a great many spacers of the newly formed "Coalition Free Navy" would reclaim control of the systems space and made ready to land a force to begin the liberation of Omorfia. The commanders in orbit soon received communications from their holdouts on the surface, alongside a plan proposed by the Murometian command- The Murometians and Omorfian soldiers with them would counter-attack the Imperials, in an attempt to force open a landing zone without risking heavy casualties in a landing attempt. Such a plan was risky, the Coalition would be outnumbered on the ground at least 7-1 and had almost no heavy equipment remaining.

Still, they launched their attack- Amidst Imperial assaults to remove this thorn in their side. For a while, it looked as if the Coalition would not be capable of producing a victory- That was before the Free Navy was asked to provide fighter support, a risky choice to make, but one their pilots carried out. Breaking through the planetary guns with miraculously light casualties and soon wreaking havoc upon Imperial forces whom had not anticipated Coalition air support- In the end, this air support made the critical difference, downing the ace in the hole, a Gunship, and breaking holes in their lines for the Coalition ground forces to exploit. A landing zone had been opened, the first battle in the liberation of Omorfia won for the Coalition and now men and material flooded into the system to make good on this foothold. The Murometians were keen to show that this was the strength of such an alliance. Working together to beat the behemoth of the Empire.
