Description

In the next hundreds of millions of years, temperatures on planet earth will undergo some drastic changes due to the movement of continents, changes in atmospheric composition and the continuous increase of solar luminosity, which will bring a predominantly warm climate in the following ages, but something that is unusual, however, is the period of 595 to 663 million years, since it does not turn out to be a rather warm period, but on the contrary, rather cold. The period called Bathovician turns out to be a time of the far future with an abrupt climatic change, the temperatures descended to the point that glacial layers re-formed, thus creating a cycle of glacial periods of small extension. The reasons for this are due to two rather crucial factors, the loss of atmospheric carbon dioxide and the position of the continents at the poles which led to the blockade of the sea currents. Although these ice periods are not comparable to others such as those occurring during the Cenozoic, they are sufficiently prominent because of their impact on the earth that it was in a constant heating path.

The coldest place on Earth is the North Pole, in the continent Ereboreus, being about -15 to -20 C°, being an arid area, completely devoid of vegetation, dominated by snowstorms and deep in darkness that lasts several months, but despite this, Certain organisms are sustained throughout the landscape, some coming from the southerly areas only pass the territory for migrations, and others that are permanent residents.

Across the great snowy landscape, the most prominent megafauna of the territory, although to being just a seasonal traveler is the Axco, an heavy herbivore Diploavis (high derived crocodile) with a cylindrical body of about 3 meters, short legs, and a flat, massive head with a huge droplet-shaped protuberance that grows on it forehead, which uses to fight and defense. It’s relative of the south areas are partly arboreal or terrestrial browsers, but this is a specialized grazer, feeding the lichens, algae, small conifers and some derived angiosperms that grows in the few naked ground parts. Usually it spends its time in the coasts, but at the moment of the winter, they migrate towards the east, happening directly in the North Pole and thus crossing towards the hot plains to the south.

Around them there are the little humanoid creatures which are the only herbivore resident, is known as Lepobipos, a polar dweller Humupeda (high derived bat) well adapted to the hard climate, it have a height of about 45 to 60 cm, and a weight of 15 kg. Live in small groups of up to 5 individuals, although they always like to be in pairs, they always move throughout the territory in search of plant material buried in the snow, in which it digs with its only claw. This species plays an important role in the development and dispersal of seeds of some plants in the region when digesting and excreting them. They are very active during the summer, going around in search of food, lichens, tubers or fruits. During the winter, they gather in small burrows that build under the ground, able to remain in a lethargic state for several months.

The main predator of the place is the Artic Bullisel, a meter long polar relative of the Stoarocheir (high derived pig), is characterized by its very short jaw, being specialized in close combat, use its white coat to go unnoticed. Under the hanging lips hides a pair of long teeth which allows it to cross 4 cm of skin in a single bite. Is solitary, being quite aggressive with individuals of its own species or other animals. Most of the time is kept hidden in its burrow, in which they spend about 14 hours sleeping or resting.

Is not really weird to see Feathens around, they are very adaptable to this kind of climate, one of these is the Nirval magnificent Fraguoll,  is an inhabitant of land and coasts, being a omnivore, is the largest Feathen of the region with one 80 cm long and a wingspan of about 1.8 m. Individuals of this species usually stay on the coast although they come inland during the winter to nest and raise their young, taking advantage of the large herbivores have cleared some of the snow in the territories. Others Fraguolls overfly around, are much smaller, and more specialized in eating little land invertebrates like mollusks and worms.

Although there are several other species in the region, these are the only types of amniotes animals that coexist during the last days of light in the exact point of the North Pole, being the only ones that are able to see the last dusks that marks the end of the summer and the beginning of the hard winter season. The large Axco take a brief feeding break before continuing its travel to the warm areas, while the small but gracile Lepobipos take advantage to take the exposed vegetal material, while small flocks of the Magnificent Fraguolls begin to arrive that they search for the cleanest places to create their nests and pass the dark days. Of course some don’t want the visitors, like the Artic Bullisel, which is going to attack a large Fraguoll which is taking a nap above its burrow.

Okay, I have to say, I still don’t know if this is possible that any cold climate is possible in this time in the far future, and I did it because was something interesting to work, but feel guys good to be skeptical about it.

Cool. By the way, if you're not sure if a cold climate would be possible, then I would like to believe it would be anyway.  It would just take millions of years for a new ice age to happen anyway.

Muy bonita y tranquila escena colega! Cuesta creer que el grandullon sea un cocodrilo derivado, aunque si lo pensamos asi las ballenas y delfines vienen de animales parecidos a perros que estan emparentados con los hipopotamos
