Description
A collaboration between and I, of a family picture of Kito and Kita's family. We worked together to come up with the personalities of their three brothers, and it was a lot of fun painting them - Chachi did the lineart while I colored and did backgrounds. The kanji, by the way, means "fox", so I thought it was appropriate. XD

The characters are so interesting. I'd love to do a story with them someday, since I like 'em so much. Who knows. Anyway, for those of you who are unfamiliar with these guys, go read Chachi's nuzlocke, it's quite good. Her character is Kita, and mine is Kito, from NuzRooke. They ended up siblings because we accidentally named them so similarly, ha, and then the rest of this blossomed from that! Kito's family is actually a royal family, rulers of a purebred land.

I won't explain in detail who they all are (Chachi already did that, read it here: goddess-chachi.deviantart.com/… But I'll give my thoughts on the kids at least. In regards to Kito.

The five kits are, from left to right, Kite (eldest brother), Kita (only girl, and closest with Kito), Kiti (youngest brother) Kito (my guy!) and Kitu (next to oldest, and very weak and sickly)

In birth order, they go Kite, Kitu, Kito, Kita, and Kiti.

It's interesting how they all explain Kito's personality, sort of. And Kita. They have middle-child syndrome. XD Kite, the most aggressive one, was always a bit of a loner. When his brother Kitu was born, Kitu was born sickly and weak...so Kite didn't bother with him much. Kite's very bull-headed and rash, butting heads with their father, which is why Edmund was leery of making his firstborn the heir to the throne. Kitu, even though he was more level-headed and mild, was too sickly and a very poor fighter. He wouldn't make a good ruler either.

When Kito was born, Kite ignored him (being in the habit of being on his own already) and Kitu was so sick, all the attention still went to him. So in a way, Kito was abandoned, or at least he felt that way. Being starved for affection in his early years probably contributed to his fixation on the ladies later in life. Plus, being left alone like that, built the resentment that led to his rebellious streak and how much he'd fight with Edmund.

When Kita was born, though, Kito wanted to be a good big brother to her (since his older brothers hadn't been very good to him.) Because of that, he formed a close relationship with his sister, even when their other brothers disliked her. After all, Edmund decided to groom Kita to be the heir, which angered Kite, and Kitu, despite his mildness, was probably a little put out by that as well. Kito knew he'd never be king though, so he didn't mind so much, and he loved his little sister. They're the closest of the siblings.

Kiti, though, was born not long before Natalia started to get sick. So he was raised more by his attendant, a Growlithe named Stephanie (mother to a certain Growlithe that Kito fell in love with ) and also his father. He spent most of his time tagging around after Edmund. He's happy and excitable, but also kind of cowardly and spoiled. He's a stickler for rules and hides behind them. Because he spent so much time with his father, he wants very badly to be the heir, and so that's led to some animosity in later years between him and Kite, fighting over the throne.

Before that, thought, Kito fell in love and ran off, and then Kita also left when she decided to join a trainer on her travels.

So that's about that. XD
