Oh yeah. Kessler was probably in charge of the First Sons by then. He is ALOT older than her after all. And it was definitely something related to the Black Tar... I like to think that she knew about her conduit powers, and tried to get in to some sort of elite scientific program with the Tar and they kicked her out but Kessler came and was like. YES. I AM AMAZING COME WORK FOR ME. So she did.
And then that whole creepy romance thing came in later but we won't talk about that. (LA LA AL not imagining it!)
