Description

I've decided to revisit my character sheets from my old webcomic, The Continued Adventures of Colin and Mona. It's been two years since my last designs and I feel these new ones are a lot more streamline and appealing.

Circe’s design hasn’t really changed much. Most of her changes come from style matching to the other redesigns. She is more consistent and her eyes are much larger than before. I liked a few of her poses from the past sheet and chose to include them with her new ones as well. If you would like to view the old design, it can be found here.

Bio:
Circe is a rather mysterious as far as creatures in Fairsing go. She lives in a lake up in the Northeast of Fairsing. The lake used to feed into the ocean, though the connection has been filled in by rocks. When humans lived in those parts long ago, young men would often go missing whenever they went to the lake alone. Most of these disappearances were unfortunately due to Circe.

Circe is a siren, though she refers to herself as a mermaid. She likes to sing, but it's been awhile since she’s performed in front of anyone. In fact the only humans she has come into contact with are Colin, who she unwittingly almost drowned, and later Mona. Living alone in the lake with no visitors has caused her to become rather clingy to any poor soul who passes by.

Circe is not an evil person by nature, rather, she is incredibly unknowledgeable about creatures who live on land. Her ignorance has led her to believe that humans can live underwater. She is currently trying to find a live in boyfriend, which is really unfortunate for any guy who happens to pass by.

Real life background information:
Circe was named after the Sorceress Circe who attempted to enchant Odysseus in the Odyssey. Odysseus also encounters sirens later in his travels, so I figured the name fit. She has unnerving inverted eyes which dilate when she sings, adding another level of creep factor to her. Her design is based off of a more scaly and fish-like type of mermaid than your usual fare, including webbed fingers and fin ears. Her expressions are mostly symmetrical, however her body poses are often s-curves and flowing.

I like how simple but elegant the character design.
