Duddle 38Quick and blotchy and slightly wonky and all the rest... but he's cool and deserves more fan-art, and if you don't recognise him then I am a sad bunny indeed.
I wasn't really intending for him to be my doodle for today, I was just feeling uninspired and thought it would be nice to have a quick go at sketching something that I've come to realise was probably a fairly big influence on my idea of what a cool walker-ish mech should look like.
It was fun to pay a bit more attention to the way all the bits fit together and the joints worked (though I didn't exactly get them totally spot on or anything :3) and all the little details anyways.
Edit: No, the name does not mean it took twenty seconds to draw. If only!

Wow, this is an entertainingly fun piece of nostalgia, sketchy or not. Also, skillfully titled and well posed. It's easy to put ED-209 in very boring and static poses, but this one works.

Ed gave me nightmares when I was little. Just imagine being locked in a narrow hallway with this guy. None of the doors open, and if you run under him, chances are he'll crush you somehow.
All this terror punctuated with a count-down to your destruction.

It's beautiful. Enforcer Droid 209 (ED-209) is one of my favorite robots. He's just such a bad ass, especially in Robocop 3.

I felt a little sorry for it really. In the first movie it was a legitimate threat. In the last move it was assigned to be a guard dog, and ended up getting hacked by a a prepubescent girl.

Ah, definitely iconic. Much like how the weapons designs in Enemy Unknown grab my attention, even after all these years. But isn't that the thing, though? It's true how so many good designs of yesteryear still manage to drive home well against today's efforts.
But yeah, ED rocks here. You've indeed done him justice.
