Reposted from here:This was my first decent ref of Kai from a different account. A few friends of mine told me to upload it here or they would XD
There is soooo much about Kai that I don't want to reveal until his ref sheet is complete, but know that it is just as detailed if not moreso than Laz's.
Also, if you see this image used elsewhere, traced, heavily reffed, or any of the unique features being swiped, PLEASE note me. I took great care into making this character, and that includes research, so please don't rip this or any other picture of Kai I have here on deviantart.

Heh, his wings remind me of my own fursona's [link] a bit. They're not really similar or anything, but the structure and the spots and all that....I know that neither of us copied, but I thought it was interesting. I always admire your characters; they're so lovely.
Anyways, nice art, even if it is just a sketch-ish thing. His head and markings look amazing. I can't wait to see the entire ref!

I think having it sweep in would make your dragons looks more elegant than they already are :3 Having such a thick baggy neck makes them look odd. But thats just my opinion :0

I was a bit at a loss of how to draw his neck right, because he's supposed to have a bit of an air sack (like certain frogs) that allows him to boost the volume of his calls.
It really looks so much sleeker without it though. Maybe I'll change it. <33 Thankies for that, I love redlines and such. Especially from you since you have such wonderful anatomy on your creatures *hugz*

I reckon he could still have an air sack, he does have alot of room for his spine and such a little further back :3 He could have a neck somewhat like I horse, the horse's spine seems to arch right up and dip back down but it still has a pretty triangular neck if you make it into general shapes :3

I wouldn't get annoyed, silly <3 I love constructive crit ^^ Especially when it's so useful.
I think I am going to follow that and slim it down a lot. Thinking further on it, the skin could just be very elastic in that area, having the same effect while still fitting nicely along the muscles.
