This is wonderful. Often I haave tried to take long exposures of these falls from the observation platform but it shakes from the force of the falls when they are raging. I am glad they have finaly tore down the covered platform and made a new and better vantage about 100 feet down river just completed 2010. I look forward to taking many photos here since I live but 20 minutes from the falls.

thank you. this was taken from the covered platform on top at the end of the parking lot. i believe it was 2009, so i'm pretty sure it was the 'old' platform. if there was shaking, it seems to have been minimal; that, or maybe the tripod (Manfrotto) does a good job of absorbing the vibrations.... I will be back to visit the falls sometime in 2011, i really wanted to hike down to the bottom at some point.....

this is gorgeous. it is difficult to effectively use long exposure times...trust me I am very unable...but you seem to have mastered it
and i'm actually going to be visiting seattle this summer

actually, given the logistical nightmare of squeezing in a few minutes for a few photos, it worked out for the best. see note for details.
