Description
A "realistic" render of a 1:5 scale Sega Genesis (Model 02) I created in Solidworks to be 3d printed in two pieces, assembled, and painted. This model is compatible with the 1:5 Scale Sega Genesis (Model 02), which a specially designed, removable expansion port cover where the CD module "plugs in" to the Genesis as it sits atop the module base.

The model is designed with consideration for the specific tolerances of 3d printing, being hollow to save on material costs with a 1mm thick shell. All details of the original system are included on the model as well, including screw holes, ports, seams and recesses. Special attention also went into representing the text as .2mm extrusions from the surface to afford the ability to paint them with relative ease. Accuracy is within .5mm.
