Description
This is a series of Gameboy Colors I made frome Perler/Hama beads. Eight variations in all - Berry Pink, Kiwi Lime, Atomic Purple, Teal, Black, Dandelion Yellow, Clear and Special Edition Pokemon Yellow/Blue.Each features Tetris DX on the screen, except for the Pokemon version, which features a pixel-representation of the title screen from Pokemon Yellow.
Yes, I did the backs as well, cartridge and all.
Each cartridge is depicted as the familiar grey cartridge, except for the black Gameboy which carries a clear cartridge, and the Pokemon Gameboy, which has a Gold cartridge.
Oh, and the Atomic Purple one glows in the dark.
If anyone is interested, I will be selling these on ETSY [link] starting beginning of May. They will be fully customizable and come with a custom package as well, designed after the GBC you create!

$6 each. I'm not sure which colors I have left off hand, but I can make another of a color if you're interested. I also collect GBC's, and pretty much every other kind of Gameboy...it's definitely an obsession.

Exactly to scale with the real deal. I measured them as close as possible - most of my 3-D Consoles are to scale (except for the mini ones, of course).

Yeah, I had a bit of a Gameboy Color kick myself, hence all these. I have most of the original versions of these, except the ones that don't exist and the one yellow/blue Pikachu version - I got the silvery-gold Japanese import version instead.

Dude that's so ingenious and awesome. XD How did you make it three dimensional? Did you glue the sides together?

DrOctoroc In reply to ThirdPotato [2008-03-10 23:08:57 +0000 UTC]
No glue here. I lay out the beads along the edges every-other, like those Puzz 3-D puzzles. The edges interlock, so no glue required. Only thing with that is, if you iron the beads too much, they wont fit together - but not enough and they break when you try to fit the pieces together. I've got it down to a science by now, heh.
