Description
This is a large bead sprite of Samus Aran from the Metroid series, as depicted by Torokun.[link]
His is by far my favorite rendition of Samus, as it is very technical and it seems to make sense the way it all fits together. Sure, I like the official design by Nintendo but it doesn't seem as realistic and well designed for its purpose.
This bead sprite contains over 9,000 beads and is a little over 3 feet high.

so simple yet most challenging to master perfect details like her the legs one her along with the gun.
now that you did this one try the next challenge.

I took the original drawing by Torokun and shrunk it, then used that as a reference to hand-pixel this one on my computer using the colors I ave available in beads. After I had the sprite done, then I beaded it using the sprite as the "pattern".

Yeah, that can get in the way too. Still, I'm not patient at all but once I get into beading a creation I only break for food and smokes.

Oh, almost forgot. I would love to see a rendition from you of Canti from FLCL (Fooly Cooly, Furi Kuri, whatever you want to call it). Have you seen that Anime? If you drew a Canti I would be sure to bead it as well!

I am nobody. I don't think my scribble would make it more valuable. In fact, people might not like the fact that your beautiful bead pixel work is ruined by someone's scribbles.

64-Bit Genocide is a VG art and music show in Baltimore every August. It's put together by the VG cover band Entertainment System. Myself and 8-Bit Artist have been showing there the last few years (myself since 16 Bit Gen and 8BA since 8Bit Gen).
I was just kidding about the sending and getting your signature...right now, the only thing that can part me from the giant Samus is a few hundred bucks.

Seriously, your Samus design is my favorite. I wouldn't have spent days on this beast otherwise. It's hanging up in my kitchen right now but on August 16th it will be in Baltimore, MD for 32-Bit Genocide.

How do you mean? I just followed the original Torokun design. I upped the contrast to get a better variance on the shades of each color for drawing the pixel version. A lot of the detail in this just comes about that way.
