Description
Another one from the whole set of snapshots. Same day asTitle comes from a vision I had of a child, who sees ghosts and monsters, squeezes his eyes and chants this word over and over again. Brrr!

Wowweee! What paint is that? Poster? It looks like yogurt! I love it!
Maybe I'm just hungry but when I look at it it looks like yogurt and strawberry jam (great combo, lets face it)
Back to the piece.
Its so intense and I love working with crackly materials so this one just makes me want to stroke the screen.

It's actually one of those gels for removing make-up around the eyes and a facial mask. It dries pretty quickly.
Haha, indeed! I've never seen it this way but I like it, too.
I'm really happy that you like it and thanks for the nice comment!

I really really like this. The combination of the two pictures on top of each other creates a new face whose image is strikingly brilliant. I love how you manages to use a pure, clean color such as white and create a dark, disturbing image with it. The blue eyes in this picture have a mysterious quality of blending in and creating a stark contrast at the same time. This girl (perhaps she is you) looks like a folk spirit or monster. When I see this picture, I think of a humble gem of a folk story about a little girl who has a terrible habit or acts atrociously and a spirit comes and corrects her. I love how there are so few cliches in this picture and how the woman is so real, but her emotion is difficult to read. She is folk graffiti to me.

Thank you so much for the detailed insight, it brought a smile to my face to read it. ^_______^ Yes, the model is me and considering this is my first time dipping my toes in horror, it means an awful lot to me that you see it as promising.

You're welcome! I really like this picture. Did you photoshop it at all? I love horror and I saw this as a fresh look on terror. I can't stand all those stories about a mysterious phone call and guns and werewolves; they are so used up. I really love folk horror that is specific to a region or person, and you definetely used it.
I really wanted to write something about your prose & poetry but I (you must excuse how this will sound) am so intimidated by your talent. I'm afraid (and this will sound very silly) of how much better you will be than me! It's a little embarassing to admit, but I thought that you should know.

Well, I did enhance the colours a bit since my camera doesn't allow me to use a nice colour scheme. That alongside with the crop.
I know, they are, aren't they? I am quite immune to them, too. They hardly affect me. That's why I always enjoy innovations in horror art.
Hey, first of all that is indeed silly to say - I haven't written anything in months so I cannot possibly be better than you. I can hardly qualify as a writer nowadays. Give yourself more credit Secondly, it's really not necessary that you comment on my writing. Though I like receiving feedback, I prefer it when people contact me about their art or participate in the projects I run.

Actually, if you're really into horror right now, there's a comic I really enjoy that I would highly recommend to you. It's called "Uzumaki" and it's by Junji Ito. It's a little graphic. Okay, it's really graphic. But I love it!
I know! There really isn't such thing as "better" or "worse", but I wanted to share. I just love feedback so much I try to give it when I can. What do you mean when you say that you like it when people contact you about their art? And I was thinking about participating in one of your projects sometime.

You're right it really is graphic. :scared: It's also very well-made, too.
Well, there have been a few people who told me about pieces they're proud of and some of them I even featured. It pleases me when people think it's worth sharing with me.
You're more than welcome to.

You know about it!? For some reason I always think I'm the only one who knows about these things. What did you think (besides being well made and scary)? Have you read anything by Kazuo Umezu? Nakayama Masaaki? Tokunan Seiichiro?
Well, I'll be sure to let you know when I create something! I'm actually working on a piece of me circa 2006 and me circa 2010 and I would really like you to see it. With all of my acting and commissions, it will be a will before its up, but once it is, I'd really like to show it to you!
You know, I did want to participate in one of them-The Love Letter contest, but only digital media was accepted and that isn't my forte.

No, I didn't but I looked it up and saw some of it. I'm generally not a fan of this kind of comics but this one impressed me.
I would love to see it, too!
Well, the group is for digital media so I'm a bit limited there so I don't think there will be anything traditional soon.

Yes, that one was definetely my favorite horror comic. He is very impressive! Have you read any of his other works?
I have a set of three drawings for a client I'm working on. I'm doing the third now. I'm very excited. I also have a comic page about Odysseus and the Scylla I did for english class. I really like that one as well. I am going to post them all sometime soon. I want to do a big dump of drawings!
Ha, I know. Maybe I'll try digital sometime. I'd really like to be able to work in all mediums. We'll see.
I'd also like to tell you about the comics I want to make. I'd really like your feedback. Please tell me what you think! I am going to note the plots to you.

This is amazing!
I really like the composition and the effect created from the two images side by side. The make-up is interesting... I must say I'm more fond of the capture of the mouth, but both are equally potent in impact.

Thank you so much for the compliment, it really means a lot coming from you. I love what you do for the community!
I'm more fond of that, too, somehow it came out more detailed but it seemed rather lonely on its own!

Aw, thank you.
Honestly, though, I like all sorts. It doesn't take much for me to smile when it comes to art.
I understand what you mean, there.

I'm the same, one needs to have broad taste in art, otherwise much is missed out.

Yeah, but it'd be more logical if I was lying about being ugly rather than if I was lying about being pretty, don't you think?

Exillior In reply to drop-asd [2010-05-30 20:18:52 +0000 UTC]
Well, I dunno. People tend to say "I'm not pretty" and "I'm ugly" more often than the other way round
