Description Oh wow, It's finally finished (sorta)...

Well, she has a name again. Deciding on a name for her was actually a lot more difficult than I would have expected, though I've got one now and I'm sticking with it this time!!! (unless someone else has a better idea ).

This is over 1 month in the making.

The dress took forever to make, and it's nowhere as detailed as I would have liked. I'd have to say that the vast majority of the time that I spent on this was on that dress. It is 3 layers (though only two are really visible here). I made a touch of progress on the bracer, but not anywhere near finished. And, after several (failed) attemts at footwear, I left her barefoot, because I wanted to upload this sometime this month. It worked out anyway, b/c in the story, those in the inner court of the kingdom that she spents most of the beginning of the story in are all barefoot, b/c the "carpet" leading up to the throne is actually a ~1in deep channel of water, which comes out of a fountain behind the throne (the queen has this "thing" with water, esp., considering the kindgom is out in the middle of a desert).

Oh yes, and I know, I said this would be up this past weekend, but it wasn't. My new job is sucking up all of my time, and my weekend is spent catching up. So, I think that this will be it for the renderings for a while. I plan on focusing my efforts on hand-drawn works again, as I have not drawn a single thing since I started my job 3 1/2 weeks ago, and I know what that must be doing to my practice.

But, enough complaining, I'm off to work...

The Texturing: Illustrator CS for the dress pattern, and then assembled and tweaked in Photoshop CS

Cool, I wanted to give it an RPG style, and I get much inspiration from the styles of Square-Enix. Let me know if you remember, I'd like to know! ^_^

Wow! She is really lovely! The designs on her dress are great and teh multiple layers really add alot of interest. It looks mostly finished with the exception of her arm brace thing (the jewel thing on it looks nice though) and her dress's neckline. It looks like it needs some sort of delicate little trim or something

DrSmiles In reply to KristenPauline [2006-02-23 01:17:09 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I know what I'd like to do with the arm brace, but I just didn't have the time to implement it. As for the trim around the neckline, I showed it to a friend ( ~Evvander ) and he suggested the same thing. I decided against it, but I think that subconsiously the real reason I did was laziness
