Then I wrote an app to do it on it's own (these are generated was random walpapers). Later I changed it to rather than pixelating an image to start with game sprites that are already pixelated. Which means I needed to figure out how big to make the legos to make the desired wallpaper size.

To be honest, I'm not sure. I have a directory with over 3000 sprites and the app just picks randomly. The sprite in question is named smas1bonus.gif, so I assume it is from Super Mario All Stars (smas).
