Heyo!
I've followed the steps till the part where we should open the relevant .vmt file.
But which file you mean with that?

The .VMT for the eye that you wish to edit.

Hello, I need help with this glowingeye problem. I try to put the glowingeye to the texturegroup skinfamiles but for some reason it didn't work. I try to get raid of the eye parts to have a yellow glowingeye color on my alicorn but it made like a pink and black texture.

Hm... Did you give it the correct VTF file? You may have told it to use a texture file that doesn't exist, that's usually what causes the pink-black checkerboard. Double check the file names and tell me if that is the issue.

I'm not really sure on what could be causing the issue then. You didn't rename the VMT file did you? That could be why it can't find the texture.
Just to make sure: you downloaded the VMT in the description, right? And you replaced the (TEXTURE FILE PATH) with the full path to the texture? It should be something like "models\VN_mlp\twilightsparkle\glowy_eye" (just replace the file and folder names, it's important that you start with models\ or else it probably won't look in the right folder)

I'll do that and so umm..let me guess about the replace the file. Is like replace the normal eye file with the glowing eye or something?

Yes, you replace the text in the normal eye file with the one in the downloaded file. Then just add the correct file path and you should be good to go.

Replace it with $basetexture and $iris or just $basetexture?

I'm not sure what you mean.
Replace all the text inside the regular VMT with the one you downloaded. Then replace (TEXTURE FILE PATH) with the file path to the small single-colour texture you did in the earlier steps. The old $iris and $basetexture files aren't what you're going to use, because that will not work.
