He's either afraid of the pain... or he doesn't want to see another of his kind.
Now before you go "Marc, what on earth are you talking about?", surely no else has though that Jupiter can't be the only one of his kind.
I though about this for awhile now and it does in some shape or form ring as a possibility main due to the fact the Jupiter came from space, and since Jupiter came from space then someone or something must have built him in the first place, and if this said creator did build Jupiter then what's stopping them from building more like Jupiter, and if there are more of Jupiter's kind then they would have over time built more of themselves because as demonstrated by Jupiter have a will to survive, and because of this chances are they'll behave similarly to humans, and because they would acted like humans AND given Jupiter's abilities before and even after his plexus was damaged........ what's stopping them from becoming conquerors if all of them are capable of doing what Jupiter can do and would act like what humans can do.
Given Jupiter's good nature and if I was in his shoes, even I would throw myself into space to get away from that life.
Pardon the theory but I just wanted to share what I think might be going through Jupiter's mind.

To bad Tom aint a gal- i don't know any female who could resist Jup or stay mad at him. I'd forgive him in 3 seconds even if he did light up like a Christmas tree!
But jokes aside, Tom was kinda walking into that one. He was being persistent TO much and Jupiter said no calmly like 3 billion times. Soo i say Jupiter is not totally at fault for this.

Poor Jupe has to face the fact that he may be judged because he was afraid of the pain...that and he may have been worried the technology could've ended up in the wrong hands.
