The answer to the age question. The same reason Kim Jong-Il looked the same in the 90's as he did the 1970's. Some people just don't age in large changes and I don't think they can think of a way for ash to actually age.

am i the only one here who thinks ash's age and apearence does not match up. i mean the kid looks like a 13 or 14 year old for crying out loud and woh sends their kids out to fend for themselves at 10 years old.

i have some reasons for ash not ageing
1. in pokemon movie one he got turnet to stone and got revived so he never ages becuse of that
2. he does age since they sayd in japan that he is 13 in BW but the time flows is just slower in the pokemon world, since they sayd it was a year ago since he was the last time in veridian city so that means at that time he was like 11 then, or 10 if it still wassn't his brithday, so he is 11 in jotho, 11 or 12 in hoehn, 12 in sinnoh and 13 in unova. ( okey i spended a bit to mutch time on pokemon )
